This work is based on ancient suspense and uses existing historical data as a reference. It borrows the writing style of Song Ci, the originator of forensic medicine in the Southern Song Dynasty, and incorporates detailed records from historical documents such as state and county files and autopsy examinations. It adopts a Detective Conan-style unit structure, with one volume per case. Readers can choose the case they are interested in based on their interests and skip to read. The cases are independent and will not affect the plot.
Each case is laid out with strict autopsy techniques and investigation logic, and the long chapters are interspersed with multiple reversals. The story begins when Song Ci first became a county captain, and runs through his life of being proficient in prisons, clearing grievances and prohibiting violence, breaking sophistry and counterfeiting, and confronting the powerful.
