The Silver Fox of the Northern School: I Am Wang Xiansheng

[Tomb Raiding + Suspense + Treasure Appraisal + Jianghu]

Wang Xiansheng, known as the Silver Fox of the Northern School, spent decades making his mark on the jianghu. He was an insurmountable peak in the tomb-raiding trade. Born into a chaotic age, he entered the school of his master at a young age. Exceptionally gifted, he quickly mastered the arts of locating dragon veins, reading the earth, and identifying tombs. With his keen eye, he secured the position of chief guide for the Northern School. Cunning and steady, he was as quick-witted as a fox, earning him the name Silver Fox.

He spent his life crossing mountains and great rivers, exploring countless strange mausoleums and ancient tombs, familiar with deadly traps and all the twists and turns of a treacherous world. Though he lived in turbulent times, he never picked fights or threw his weight around. He valued loyalty, knew his limits, understood when to advance and when to hold back, and relied on his wits and reputation to earn respect. His men admired his kindness, while his peers respected his skill. Amid the jianghu’s shifting currents, he remained as steady as a mountain.

After half a lifetime walking along the edge of a blade, he had seen every kind of human warmth and cruelty and countless treasures in ancient tombs, yet never chased fame or wealth. He protected those by his side and upheld the rules of the trade, emerging unscathed from the storms and remaining detached amid prosperity. In his later years, he stayed out of disputes and lived in peace, passing away at an advanced age.

Wang Xiansheng’s life was a legend. He never gained renown through earth-shattering deeds, but his reputation endured like a flowing stream. The Silver Fox is gone, but his name lives on, an enduring legend of the Northern School’s jianghu.
