During the Second War of the Thrones, the “Skyfrost” from beyond the universe and Teyvat’s “Buried Flame” fused and annihilated each other. A thousand years later, during the Archon War in Liyue, a battle between Rex Lapis and his foe accidentally awakened the Platinum Archon “Qidaos” from deep within the ley lines. His memories were blank, but he regarded Liyue as home.
Unable to bear the devastation of war, he left behind the “Platinum Stone,” formed from his original power, to protect Liyue, then set off alone on a long journey of wandering. His footsteps carried him across the seven nations: composing poetry in Mondstadt’s lonely city, digging through Liyue’s mountains, planting cherry trees in Inazuma, carving marks into Sumeru’s World Tree, exploring Fontaine’s underwater depths, and running across Natlan’s plains. About a thousand years ago, he vanished without a trace.
In Liyue, the gifts he left behind came to be celebrated as “wondrous achievements.” They brought prosperity to agriculture and manufacturing, becoming a hazy yet distinctive chapter in myth.
Today, a thousand years later, an eccentric named “Wan Shi” has arrived in Liyue Harbor. He is extraordinarily capable, yet erratic in his behavior and unpredictable in his moods.
The world knows only what it sees, unaware that he may also bear an even more arduous mission.
