Reborn in the Bitter Cold: An Esper in the Frozen Age

The wind, a hundred degrees below zero, was like countless ice-coated knives, slicing into Lin Ye’s frozen, rigid skin.

He huddled in the mezzanine of a collapsed office building, clutching half a blackened ration biscuit. It was all the hope he had left to make it through his seventh day in this frozen apocalypse. Outside the window, the once-prosperous city of Donghai had become a lifeless icebound hell. Thick shells of ice encased the skyscrapers, the streets had frozen smooth as mirrors, and frozen corpses were scattered everywhere, still locked in the desperate poses they had struck at the moment of death. The sky was forever leaden gray. The blizzards fell without end, burying every trace of civilization beneath ice that would never melt.
