The Mute Bride: The Blind War God Makes Me His Remedy

She was mute for three years. He was blind for three years.

She thought he was using her. He thought she was a pawn.

It was only when the truth came to light that night that he realized:

She was the person he had searched for over ten years, and the person he had nearly destroyed with his own hands.

At sixteen, Shen Zhiyi was sold to the Prince of Zhenbei’s residence as a bride to bring him good fortune.

Prince Gu Yanming was blind and needed her blood as an ingredient for his medicine. One cup a day, for three years.

She was mute and unable to speak, so she could only silently offer her hand.

He was blind and unable to see, so he could only sense her presence through touch.

She thought he was coldly using her, yet she kept finding hot soup, cotton shoes, and candied fruit he had secretly left for her at night.

He thought she was just an ordinary source of medicine, but he found his hand reaching toward her more and more often.

Then assassins attacked. She threw herself in front of him to take a sword strike and fell into his arms.

Feeling blood cover his hands, he lost control for the first time and shouted, “Save her! If she dies, I’ll have the entire household buried with her!”

Only then did she believe he truly cared about her.

Only then did he admit she was no longer just a source of medicine.

She cried as she wrote in his palm: Why do you believe me?

He lowered his head and kissed the back of her hand.

“Because if I didn’t believe you, I really would be blind, not in my eyes, but in my heart.”

Later, she learned that the person who had saved him all those years ago was her mother.

Later, he learned that she had not been mute from birth. Someone had poisoned her and taken her voice because she was protecting his secret.

He avenged her.

She found her voice for him.

The first words she spoke were his name.

“Gu Yanming, I love you.”
