When Disaster Struck, I Stunned the Ancients With My Expertise

Core Worldbuilding: The Miracle of Reverse Transmigration

Act One: Modern Rescue, Stranded in a Fairyland

Lin Xi, 26, is the youngest female disaster response expert at the National Emergency Management Department. Calm and professional, she believes in science and teamwork.

Zhou Yuan, 28, is a structural engineer who served in the military as a combat engineer. After retiring, he joined a civilian rescue team. He is taciturn and exceptionally handy.

During a massive earthquake rescue, they are caught in an aftershock while saving a child and fall into a fissure. When they wake, they find themselves in a completely unfamiliar mountain forest. Their phones have no signal, but with their emergency supplies and professional expertise, they quickly assess their surroundings and set up a temporary camp.

They soon discover that this mountain forest is not on Earth. There are two moons, and the air contains a faint, active particle, the world's so-called spiritual energy.

Act Two: Survivors of an Ancient Kingdom, Heavenly Envoys Descend

Three days later, they rescue a scout squad from the Great Yan Kingdom, who are being hunted by demonic beasts. Through painstaking gestures and conversation, aided by Lin Xi's knowledge of ancient languages from her history studies, they learn that this world is called Yuncang and is at a stage of civilization similar to the Middle Ages.

The Great Yan Kingdom is facing a once-in-a-century disaster known as the Meteor Lake Flood: unrelenting rain has caused Meteor Lake upstream to burst its banks, putting hundreds of thousands of people in mortal danger. The Imperial Preceptor has performed rites for three days, but the rain has only grown heavier. Just as the emperor and his subjects despair, Lin Xi and Zhou Yuan are brought into the palace as heavenly envoys. Facing the skepticism of the assembled officials, Lin Xi does not demonstrate any magic. Instead, she asks for paper and a brush, quickly draws a topographic map, and points out the location of Meteor Lake and the downstream flood diversion zone
