Charlie IX: A Promise Between Boys

An unexpected farewell, and a casual mention of studying abroad.

Is their seven-year promise a journey far away, or a carefully arranged deception?

He carries his secret alone as he steps into the abyss, believing no one knows,

never realizing that the silent eyes watching him have already seen through every disguise.

No one knows how perilous the road ahead will be. They only know this:

Someone is waiting, someone is standing guard, and someone has already wagered everything on the day of their return.
