During the Republic of China, the Taoist priest Jiu Shu and his two apprentices with very different personalities were forcibly invited by the warlord into a century-old house built on a mass grave. The warlord threatened to fund their Taoist temple as long as they could survive the "first seven" here. They must face the increasingly sinister and terrifying hallucinations evolving in the ancient house every night.
