The title of the book has a sense of fate, and the settings of Rose of France and Blade of Shanghai are eye-catching. Love in troubled times is combined with political intrigue, the rhythm is relaxed and moderate, and the emotions are strong without procrastination. The characters are three-dimensional and contrasting, and the plot is ups and downs and intriguing. It is both tender and ruthless, and it is a masterpiece of sadomasochism in the Republic of China that has both atmosphere and storytelling. "Old Dreams in the Floating City: French Rose Meets the Blade on the Beach" is based on the troubled times of the Republic of China, crushing exotic customs and grievances in the world into love and hate. The softness of the French Rose meets the sharp edge of the Shanghai Beach Blade, and the characters are full of tension. The text is tender and desolate, with love and justice, family and country intertwined at all levels. The picture is very strong, and reading it feels like being in an old dream, with a long aftertaste.
The love story of the Republic of China is 9 out of 10 sad, but it is very beautiful and good-looking. I hope there will be more good works like this!
