The Newly Revised Heavenly Book

A heavenly book that records the rise and fall of all under heaven.

Historian Xun Rixin records the truth without fear, overturning the convictions of 123 people and offending the powerful clans of the entire dynasty. Dismissed from office, imprisoned, exiled, as he is crushed beneath the gears of power, a heavenly book from the endless void opens before him.

“Restore the historian’s brush. Seek my remains.”

In his unconsciousness, he sees the mountains and rivers of another world, cities ablaze, an empire in ruins, and a tower suspended above a sea of clouds. As the tower crumbles, he sees someone identical to himself standing amid the ruins, holding that very book.

The heavenly book records everything, and defines everything.

But Xun Rixin is a historian. Historians bow not to fate, but to the truth.

“You write your destiny. I’ll write the story of humanity.”
