He Saw Me Through the Abyss

Shen Jingzhe, a criminal psychology consultant who has just joined the team, reads the confidential file of Lu Chengbei, head of the criminal investigation unit, on his very first day.

Lu Chengbei suppresses his anger. "Who are you?"

Shen Jingzhe looks up, his pale eyes betraying no emotion. "The person who's going to help you solve the case."

Four cases of corpse burning. Four sets of cut marks on the skulls. Shen Jingzhe says the killer is collecting eyes and needs nine pairs. Lu Chengbei says he's crazy.

Then a case from fifteen years ago is reopened: the serial killer who was executed was Shen Jingzhe's university professor.

And the killer's younger brother has now gone missing.

The taunting letter reads, "For Senior Brother Shen's eyes only," and the painting on the wall is missing just one pair of eyes. Every piece of evidence points to the same answer:

The end of this fifteen-year-long gaze is him.

At the moment of life and death, Lu Chengbei steps in front of him. "Didn't you say nobody believed you?"

Looking at the knife wound Lu Chengbei took in his place, Shen Jingzhe's eyes redden for the first time. "Lu Chengbei, you really are an idiot."
