Longevity + invincibility + taking on disciples + traveling through the Myriad Worlds + no saintly do-gooding
After the universe restarted, Ye Tianran became the supreme ruler of the Hunshi Universe.
At last, he could slack off instead of cultivating every day. Bored, he refined the Heavenly Dao into a System to use as a guide, sealed away some of his memories, and decided to seek out some fun across the Myriad Worlds.
He traveled through the heavens and decided to take on a few disciples to pass the time.
His disciple was named Jiang Xiaochen. Ten years old, he was treated as a jinx by the entire village and lived in a ruined temple, gnawing on moldy rations.
Ye Tianran took a liking to him and gave him a few pointers. In just one month, he went from Martial Apprentice to the Martial Spirit Realm.
Jiang Xiaochen thought he was a prodigy.
Ye Tianran never told him that he’d secretly given his cultivation a boost.
Jiang Xiaochen asked, “Master, just how powerful are you?”
Ye Tianran thought for a moment. “The kind who can kill a hundred people with one slap.”
His disciple’s eyes lit up. “So that’s your level?”
Ye Tianran’s lips curled into a smile. “Your master? I’m a lot stronger than that.”
Jiang Xiaochen stared at him, speechless for a long while, before finally managing, “Master... just how powerful are you, then?”
Ye Tianran took a sip of wine and said calmly, “Guess.”
Only later did Jiang Xiaochen learn that the man who loved to crack jokes, had a soft heart, trained him, and always stood up for him was the most powerful being in the universe.
