Introduction to the work
Lin Xingwan, a freshman girl in 2026, and Jiang Shubai, a high school student in 2010, started a daily time and space exchange due to an accident. In his world, she fights against repressive family expectations; in her future, he glimpses her loneliness under her pretense of strength. The two established a connection through exchanging diaries, and went from strangers warning each other to the only confidants hidden in the gaps of time.
However, when they try to use this bond to rewrite the unfortunate trajectory of each other's lives, the timeline begins to collapse. The act of revising the past raises paradoxes, and the longing for reunion threatens the very foundation of existence. Between the cruel options of "complete disappearance" and "eternal dislocation", they made the third choice: no longer trying to save each other through time and space, but with each other's blessings, struggling to grow in their respective worlds, and living long enough to meet each other across sixteen years.
This is a story about waiting and growing up. Until the New Year bell rings in the Year of the Horse, the river of time finally merges its two tributaries into the same ocean - all the time spent for love will eventually bring the lovers to the same tomorrow.
