Lu Chen, a criminal police officer from the Serious Case Team of the Municipal Criminal Investigation Detachment, is investigating a series of "bizarre homicides in folk customs and feng shui": the death of the deceased was in compliance with taboos, but the scene was arranged to look like "revengeful spirits causing trouble and feng shui backlash", as if someone deliberately disguised the murder as a divine punishment.
Once he was following clues about a missing copper bell, he was involved in the "Folk Taboo Crime Solving Game". Entering the dungeon, the rules pop-up window sets forth a life and death taboo - violation means death. What's even weirder is that the ancient ancestral jade shattered, and Shen Qinghe, a folklore teacher from the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, awakened in his body.
From then on, Lu Chen used criminal investigation and evidence chain to dismantle the loopholes in the rules, and Shen Qinghe used folk customs and Feng Shui deduction to see through the fake murder plot: the resentful spirits in the copy are not ghosts, but the dead who were murdered for money, killed for love, and inherited the money; clearing the level is not about escaping, but about solving a century-old unsolved case and returning the erased name.
Every time a game is broken, clues will flow back to reality - and the real mastermind "Ling Hui" is using folk custom as a knife and Feng Shui as a cover to continue killing people.
