Reborn as the Supreme of All Things

A bloody upheaval erupted in the Imperishable Emperor Palace of the Nine Heavens. Yun Xiao, the emperor's eldest legitimate son, led a band of death-sworn followers in an armed assault on the palace. He accused his baby brother of being an ill omen and threatened the empress and the entire court to force his father to kill the infant. Emperor Xin, the Imperishable Emperor who had ruled the myriad heavens for countless years, had no choice but to hand his own youngest son over to his mortal enemy for the sake of the greater good. The child died a brutal death. Though grief tore Emperor Xin apart, he kept it buried. For countless years afterward, he roamed the stars and searched every corner of the myriad worlds, hoping to find even a fragment of his child's soul. At last, in the court of a distant foreign kingdom, he saw with his own eyes that the child who had died so horribly had been reborn as a beloved prince. His features were still as exquisitely carved as if by the Heavenly Dao, but he had forgotten his past and no longer recognized the father who had sent him to his death.
