While surveying an ancient village, folklorist Lin Jingming unexpectedly transmigrates to a parallel Republican-era China where spiritual energy has run dry and supernatural calamities are rampant. He also combines modern technology with divine power to build a joint divine-tech force, then heads beyond the world to aid the surviving gods. In the end, he crushes the invaders and launches a counter-invasion of their realm, beginning a bold new journey of exploration across the heavens.
