I transmigrated into the seventh year of the Strange Era, becoming the most miserable latecomer.
The seven major factions spent a million lives discovering how to cultivate, while high- and mid-level powerhouses monopolized every resource. Ordinary people could only risk their lives to grow stronger: refine a Strange Core, and either awaken or drop dead.
I have a secret: I can control ghosts in my dreams, then put those skills to use in real fights after I wake up.
And I have an even deadlier secret: after controlling ghosts for so long, I’ve been classified on both leaderboards as “half-human, half-ghost”: 51% human, 49% strange.
That means I can claim the rewards on the human leaderboard and the rewards on the strange leaderboard, too.
But it also means I have to use chips of humanity acquired through trades to maintain that 1% balance.
The six major factions send people to recruit me. I happily accept their resources, then turn around and screw over the whole server.
The seven Ghost Lords send people to hunt me down. I play along with their plans, then swallow their lairs whole.
The Lord of the Strange personally steps in, hoping to make me his successor.
He asks me, “Half-human and half-ghost, which side will you take in the end?”
I say, “Neither. I’m only on my own side.”
Later, they all call me the savior.
But they don’t know I did all this only because
The child whose tears I once wiped away hasn’t yet learned how to forget me.
Half-human and half-ghost take all the rankings, trap the whole server and kill the ghost master!
