Konaros, a Cthulhu pirate and his Blacknet gang, have all been arrested by the Interstellar Federation!
“So... sirs, what do I have to do to get my freedom back?”
“Konaros, calm down. You were just too conspicuous. You can still work for us. All you need is a new identity.”
“I see... Thank you so much. May I be so bold as to ask, do I have a choice?”
“No. You’ll become an interstellar merchant and keep gathering intelligence for us, but you’re not allowed to raid cargo ships or overthrow other planets anymore.”
“Understood. Then... where am I supposed to get my ship?”
“Under the law, we can’t return your ‘Death Star Rogue.’ But we’ll make an exception and let you purchase a battleship from a Federation shipyard as compensation.”
“Purchase?! Sirs, please, I’m broke now. I don’t have a single coin! Can’t you make an exception?”
“Then buy it on credit. The Federation believes your credit in the black market is pretty good. It’s your only way to regain your freedom.”
And so Konaros was driven out of the detention center without room for argument, his tentacles swinging...
“Damn the Interstellar Federation... Small temple, fierce demons. They think they’re so powerful... Just wait until I get my hands on that battleship...”
Konaros muttered as he complained.
“Isn’t my freedom still mine to decide?”
