After Jiang Shiting dies in the line of duty, Song Lizhang, captain of the criminal investigation team, gives up smoking and closes off his heart.

A year later, Sheng Bai, the genius forensic trace analyst who disappeared at Jiang Shiting’s funeral, suddenly appears before him. At last, the two are reunited. Joined by Li Xingxing, a thoughtful forensic doctor, the three form a formidable team and solve three astonishing cases in succession.

A body floats in a park. Twin sisters devour and sustain one another, and the truth turns everything upside down.

Lost in the snowy mountains: five intellectually disabled people and one child go missing for four months. Four die and one survives. The survivor raves:

“The car isn’t safe. The food is poisoned. We have to go into the mountains to survive...”

When traces of human tissue are detected, the entire mountain range trembles.

He did not miraculously survive. He lived for 120 days by eating a four-year-old girl.

A dead infant in the stairwell: a nine-month-old baby boy is abused to death in the stairwell, and the killer turns out to be...

The chain of evidence is glaringly clear, yet there is no way to convict anyone. They can only start at the root of the evil and slowly set a crooked world straight.

Piece by piece, the trio closes in on the truth.

Behind every murder lies the abyss of human nature and wounds that have yet to heal.

“People lie. Evidence doesn’t.”
