In 2026, rule-based horror descends upon the entire world.
Every scenario has ironclad rules that must be obeyed: don’t look directly at the checkout counter at 2 a.m., don’t take elevator number four, and never open the door if you hear a knock… Anyone who breaks the rules will be trapped forever by the supernatural.
Su Jinyue is transported into the body of China’s chosen player and bound to the [Play Dirty System].
The System wants her to be a villain: ambush teammates, break the rules, and use others as shields. She must rack up “depravity points” to get home.
But she has forgotten who she was in her previous life: the seventy-second successor to an ancient martial arts clan. She practiced horse stance at eight, trained in iron palm at twelve, and could split a brick with her bare hands at eighteen. She died at twenty-five after her qi went awry, but her martial arts are etched into her bones.
And so the story takes a turn:
A red-clad ghost knocks at the door? She slaps its head clean off.
The rules say not to break the mirror? She punches straight through the eerie face inside it.
A teammate tries to shove her out to take a hit? She pins them into the wall, then charges in and stomps the supernatural into the ground.
Livestream viewers: ??? Is this rule-based horror or a martial arts movie?
Even stranger, the harder she tries to be a villain, the more people see her as a saint who risks her life for others. Shen Moyan, the psychology graduate student who always sees through the truth, starts looking at her differently and differently.
“Su Jinyue, what are you really hiding?”
Su Jinyue replies expressionlessly, “If I told you I just want to be a villain, would you believe me?”
Rules are meant to be followed.
She uses them to smash heads.
“I just play dirty.”
