This article is a Machiavellian and emotional novel written in an elegant style. It tells the story of the life-and-death bonds surrounding the Seventh Prince Li Muchen and General Xuance Cui Zhaolan, collectively known as the "Eight Stars".
The seventh prince, Li Muchen, was born with the fate of "triple seven kills" and walked on thin ice in the emperor's strict expectations and cold court. Around him, eight people with different fates gathered: Li Huaiyue, who is as loyal as a rock, protects his left and right with his body as a shield; Li Lingxiao, who hides in the shadows, uses his life to absorb murderous intentions for His Highness; Cui Zhaolan, who is like a raging fire, rushes thousands of miles just for that deep love; Doctors Gu Shen and Lin Yan used medicine and stones to see into the gap between the human heart and the way of heaven; historian Ji Zhang Lan and Zhongshu Sheren Cui Yiqing, one article decorated peace, the other straight writing, guarding the truth in the text; eunuch Shen Zhao quietly observed the star path with his double-pupiled eyes, silently recording the separation and reunion.
The eight stars surround each other like stars, illuminating the darkest corners of each other's lives. However, caught between political intrigue and the shackles of human relations, this deep love that transcends monarchs, ministers, brothers, and confidants is destined not to be tolerated in this world.
In the winter of the year Bingxu, sudden changes occurred in the palace. In the bloody battle at Chengtianmen, strangers in Chang'an Lane depended on each other to death, Ba Yao burned his life in his own way to protect the spark in his heart. In the end, a box of relics sank to the bottom of the river, and Ba Yao's name was lost in official history. Many years later, the fisherman got the box, and the scholar recorded it as "The Legacy of Bingxu" - just to let future generations know that in these dark years, eight stars really shined, heated, struggled, and loved.
The stars sink in Bingxu, but the embers remain bright.
