A Retired Champion Becomes a Star by Being a Total Goofball

Lin Yan, a world champion in the former MOBA game Destiny, refused to let his team run his career as a traffic-generating business. He retired at the top and decided to lie flat and enjoy his retirement.

When the new game Starbound launched, the only one-of-a-kind special gear on the server appeared. While everyone else was still grinding away at hardcore mechanics, he was already tearing things up with his ridiculous gear!

Nine swords in two seconds activate the Nine Swords of Dugu; 99% evasion lets him wipe out everything on screen; he soloes a King-tier dungeon and sets a new server record!

The Seven Injuries Medal reduces the defense of both himself and his enemies, letting him and his teammates take down BOSSes in all sorts of hilarious ways!

His old team, the Skywolf Squad, smears him, calling him an over-the-hill noob who’s afraid to go pro again?

Lin Yan fires back by forming a fun-loving team and carving his way through the professional league, starting from the qualifiers!

You chase traffic with marketing. I make esports fun; you rely on capital to build hype. I rely on skill to become a legend!

When he walks onto the world championship stage with a backpack full of absurd gear, audiences around the globe finally realize:

There’s more than one way to win at esports. Even a fun-loving goofball can reach the top of the world!
