College student Xiaoxue was abducted and trafficked back to her hometown by her boyfriend Xu Mo. Her father initially acquiesced to what happened because of traditional concepts. Xiaoxue managed to escape back to school after recuperating, and became a doctor many years later. They reunited with their cousin Xiaoyu, who married Shanzi and committed suicide by drinking pesticides, and met her critically ill father. Eventually, his father passed away. Xiaoyu injured Shanzi during a caesarean section, and the tragedy ended.
