The Demon War Chronicle: Mission in the Underworld, A Transmigration Novel World

[Fanfiction, no System, Dou Mo Zhan Ji fanfiction]

One late-night mountain hike leads Li Hongyuan to stumble upon a brutal battle between the Underworld Bureau and a zombie. The moment falling rocks crash down, his life comes to an abrupt end, and his soul is led to the Underworld.

Yama sits on a high dais, running a fingertip over the Book of Life and Death. “That fugitive Corpse Fiend has escaped to another world. If you can destroy it, you can take up a divine post in the Underworld and enjoy eternal offerings. Are you willing?”

“I’m willing.”

Carrying the Underworld’s charge and the promise of an unknown divine position, Li Hongyuan’s soul plunges into another world. But when he sets foot in this land, he is startled by how familiar everything looks. Isn’t this the fantasy novel Dou Mo Continent that he used to follow religiously?

Tempted by a divine post in the Underworld yet constrained by the invisible pull of the novel’s plot, Li Hongyuan wields the power of thunder he brought from the Underworld and carefully navigates between known events and unknown twists. He must hunt down the ever more bizarrely evolved Corpse Fiend while also watching out for the fates of the “characters” as they veer off course.
