Live or Die

The inspiration for this novel came from the author's chance encounters with several truck drivers. Their exhaustion, helplessness, tenacity and kindness deeply touched the author. They drive the most expensive machines but live the humblest lives; they connect to every corner of China, but they are trapped in a narrow cab. They are the real "carriage drivers" of this era - they pull heavy goods and move the entire society, but few people see or hear them. "Live or Die" attempts to give these silent figures a chance to speak out in literature.
