Korean Showbiz: The Underdog Has Reached the Top

[The tenth hidden member of the Empresses + kind but not a pushover + a background figure’s personal growth + original male lead, an industry outsider (a supporting tool and a background character)]

(Main villain: the company. Blame the capitalists for everything. Empresses fans, don’t argue. If you don’t like it, don’t read. I’ll do my best to stick to the historical record, but the timeline serves the story.)

Lin Jitang, the Empresses’ invisible tenth member, is the group’s fringe member: few camera shots, few parts.

· An overlapping, ill-defined position.

· Virtually no official solo opportunities; the kind of member nobody even knows exists.

She’s the poster child for haters who mock her as someone who debuted only by outlasting everyone else.

She was a legend among the trainees, yet after debuting, she became the most inconspicuous member of the group.

Lin Jitang says she doesn’t mind. When recognized, she makes the most of it; when suppressed, she lies low; when nobody appreciates her, she finds peace within herself.

So what if she’s near the bottom in popularity? Come on, she’s an Empress!

She’s already financially independent. What she wants isn’t fleeting attention, but the lasting freedom to live life on her own terms.

Lin Jitang stays true to herself, grows quietly, and waits for her time to bloom.

Question: How does a fringe member make it to the top?

Answer: Build a foundation with good character, break through with the right mindset, and keep going by taking care of your health.
