After an accidental fall into the water, a mother and daughter wake up in the hospital to discover that their souls have switched bodies.
The mother's “rebellion”
Ouyang Jing discovers that her daughter's soul is living in her body. Looking at the girl in the mirror, she suddenly wants to try the things she always forbade: wearing ultra-short denim shorts and towering high heels. When she shows up in the living room with bags upon bags in tow, Ouyang Beibei, whose body now holds her mother's soul, is nearly furious enough to faint.
The daughter's “old-fashioned ways”
Using her daughter's body, Ouyang Jing tears down all the posters on the walls of Ouyang Beibei's room and openly reads her locked diary. “Starting today, you have to mend your ways and get into college.”
Even if their souls may never switch back, mother and daughter come to feel that this must be fate's design:
Ouyang Jing: “I can finally understand my daughter's world. It turns out that youth isn't about rebellion, but about moving forward fearlessly.”
Ouyang Beibei: “Mom's old-fashioned ways aren't stubbornness. She's protecting me in her own way.”
