The Arrogant General’s Forceful Love

Just after Sun Yining moved with her family to Tianjin and settled there, she received a marriage proposal from General Ling Xiao, a man said to have connections on both sides of the law. Rumor had it that Ling Xiao was a merciless killer, and that several of his wives had disappeared without a trace. He was nearing forty and still unmarried. As Sun Yining was trying to find a way to turn down the proposal, her childhood sweetheart Fang Shaobai was imprisoned, leaving her no choice but to marry into the Ling household. On her wedding night, she prepared to die with Ling Xiao, but the general never appeared because official business had sent him north to quell a rebellion. Sun Yining thought she would have a few peaceful days in the household, but then her mother-in-law suddenly arrived to make things difficult for her. At the critical moment, Ling Xiao returned and saved Sun Yining. Only then did she realize that he was the very person who had been helping her all along. Once their misunderstandings were cleared up, the couple lived together in harmony, overcoming one problem after another and exposing the mastermind behind the smuggling of arms in collusion with foreign enemies.
