While reading the novella "The God of Wealth Su Jin", I was thinking about the true meaning of "treasure" - it is not gold or silver, but the inner abundance and human warmth that people gain after recognizing themselves and connecting with others.
A biographical and legendary novel, worth recommending!
This book focuses on the joys and sorrows of Baili Xi and his wife Du Shi spanning forty years. Through the ups and downs of an ordinary scholar in the turbulent times of the Spring and Autumn Period, it shows the intertwining of individual destiny and the current of the times. The title of the book is taken from the classic scene in which Baili Xi came to the Qin Dynasty and his wife came to the court as a Huan woman to play the piano and sing "The Song of Jue" to recognize each other. This is used as the core image to explore the human background of "poor and lowly couples who are rich and honorable and never forget each other".
