The Horror Game: Only I Saw Through the Rules

Six people, trapped in a stark white room with no doors.

The rules are simple: discuss for ninety minutes each round, vote to execute two people, and keep going until the game ends.

Before the first vote, I stare at the body in the corner. It was left behind by the previous game.

The others are panicking. I’m the only one smiling.

I’ve played this game before.

They think it’s a random death lottery.

Su Qing, the white-collar worker, is forming alliances. Zhao Gang, a middle-aged man, angrily pounds the wall. Lin Wei, the doctor, gently tries to calm everyone down. Liu Yu, a college student, cowers in the corner, trembling. Wang Jianguo, a retired police officer, is trying to reason out the truth.

Only I know that the one trembling in the corner might be faking it.

Only I know that two people must die each round, but the undercover player can change the vote.

Only I know that the true rules of this game are hidden in the corners of the System that it never mentioned.

I didn’t tell them.

I want to see who gives themselves away.

At the second vote, I smile and point at someone no one expects.

“Liu Yu, stop pretending. The rhythm of your trembling doesn’t match your breathing.”

She raises her head, her eyes suddenly sharp. “How do you know?”

How do I know?

Because she was the one who got me killed in the previous round.

This time, I’m going to make the undercover player vote herself out.
