Synopsis

Whenever the midnight clock strikes 11:59, Zhang Hong falls into that “still world”:

There is no sound, no signal, and time stands frozen. Only “things” knock at the door.

Everyone says he is mentally ill, and even he believes them.

Until one night, his younger sister, who he had not been in touch with for four years, comes to visit.

When the knocking starts again, she sees it with her own eyes: a rotting hand reaches through the crack in the door, a spider tattoo, the mark of a wanted criminal, inked on its back.

And her brother, the washed-up comic artist, calmly plunges a knife into that hand, again and again, cutting through sinew and bone.
