Water Margin: The Golden Legend of the Spirit Sword

In the eighth reign of Emperor Huizong, the Jin army presses against the borders and war breaks out once more. Emperor Daojun Zhao Ji ignores state affairs and is helpless as his ministers argue. At this critical moment, Grand Preceptor Cai Jing offers a plan: he has found a “living immortal” on Mount Emei, who has passed down a lost art, the forging of a Blood Spirit Sword. They say that in the hands of a master swordsman, this blade can stand alone against the Jin kingdom’s million-strong Iron Pagoda army!

This “immortal” is none other than Guo Jing, the notorious swindler of the late Northern Song, a consummate charlatan who will one day bring about Kaifeng’s fall and the emperor’s capture. In the throne hall, the foolish ruler believes every word, while the loyal ministers are frantic. An ethereal “Blood Spirit Sword,” an absurdly brazen scam, and behind it all, a grudge from the martial world buried for years!
