An urban love story spanning twelve years of affectionate waiting, two-way growth and reunion (in a non-traditional sense). The core explores the meaning of equality, trust, self-transformation over time, and the eternal proposition that true love can transcend long years and identity barriers.
The story begins on the summer campus twelve years ago. 14-Year-old Shi Muqiu suffered a spinal cord injury in a car accident and was trapped in a wheelchair, sensitive and alienated. Xu Niannian, a newly transferred girl, broke into his world with her unique frankness and equality - she always squatted down to look at him at eye level, stood up to defend him when he was being discussed, and gave no protection when he revealed his amazing dream of "wanting to build a pair of legs for himself". The trust and encouragement left behind: "When you stand up that day, remember to treat me to a meal!" This sunshine-like warmth and the childish agreement between "nurse and leg engineer" became the only light in Shi Muqiu's black and white world, and also became the starting point of his struggle for the rest of his life.
