The Heroine of Taihang

Female Bandit Chief Fan Lihua: One night with a Japanese invader, five heads to win her hand in marriage. Her iron-blooded resistance shakes the Taihang Mountains!

In the autumn of 1938, a blood-red banner was raised over Heifengkou Stockade in the Taihang Mountains. The name “Fan Lihua” was written across it in bold, blade-like strokes. Before the stockade gates, a woman in a short jacket, twin pistols at her waist, stood on the head of a Japanese army major and loudly swore before the crowd: “From now on, for every Japanese invader I kill, I’ll sleep soundly for one night. Kill five, and I’ll marry whoever has the guts to join me in fighting the invaders!”

The female bandit chief who made this astonishing vow was Fan Lihua, once known simply as Fan. Driven into the mountains by Japanese aggression, she was an ordinary woman who used her own blood to write a legend of resistance.
