As steam from Platform Nine and Three-Quarters mingles with the September morning mist, the Hogwarts Express carries the dreams of countless young wizards toward the unknown. But among this year's first-years is a boy named Lin Mo Hades, whose arrival will upset the balance of the magical world. A descendant of the guardians of the River Styx, he can freeze lakes and peer into souls with the black mist coiling around his fingertips. An ancient power is branded into the snake-shaped tattoo on his collarbone. The Sorting Hat screams and recoils from his head, Slytherin's pure-blood heirs are no match for him, and the knowing glint in Dumbledore's eyes hints that this Hogwarts journey will be anything but ordinary.
