A Yandere's Failed Attempt to Save Their Master

This book continues a story. Here’s a recap of what came before:

High school student Lin Yan transmigrated into a female-targeted tragic romance novel he’d read, becoming a good-for-nothing disciple with the same name. Thinking he had to take the original character’s place and save the novel’s terribly unfortunate master, Ling Shuanghua, he foolishly set out to do just that. What he didn’t know was that he’d transmigrated into a fake version of the book. His master was actually a heartless black-hearted lotus. In her youth, she sacrificed her heart in a desperate situation and gained unrivaled power, at the cost of losing the emotions of an ordinary person. She simply spent her days pretending to be a righteous Immortal Venerable. Lin Yan’s actions caught the black-hearted lotus’s attention, and after a string of blunders, he was treated like a dog and tormented. As this went on, Lin Yan’s hatred for his master grew, but he also fell hopelessly in love with her. Then, just when he needed his master most, he suddenly died. Only after learning of his death did his belatedly grieving master realize she had long since fallen in love with her reckless young disciple. Unwilling to admit he was her weakness, she had given him “special treatment.” His master went completely mad. After marrying her young disciple in a ghost wedding, she prepared to destroy the entire cultivation world. Just as she began carrying out the first step of her plan, another “her” sent her young disciple back to her…

Ling Shuanghua: “Your master was wrong. Please don’t leave me, all right?”

Lin Yan: “I’m going to die, but I’m not telling you.”
