Lin Mo is an ordinary courier who spends every day winding through the city's streets and alleys. Desperate to cover next month's sharply increased rent, he has no choice but to take all kinds of late-night deliveries nobody else wants. Then one day, while delivering an old envelope marked “Do Not Open,” he discovers that the recipient's address is an old apartment building that was demolished long ago. Stranger still, the elderly woman who handed him the envelope turns around and disappears into a wall. That night, he picks up an old phone with a screen cracked like a spiderweb. Whenever a text arrives at midnight, the person mentioned in it mysteriously vanishes before dawn. His childhood friend Su Qing is a warmhearted community volunteer who is always checking in on him, but Lin Mo gradually notices that she always carries a brass key from the same era as the old phone in her pocket. The way she looks at him is like she's looking at someone who should have disappeared, but somehow remained.
