An epic tale spanning from 1951 to 2008, following the legendary journey of the protagonist, He Yuzhu, from surviving in a courtyard compound to dominating the business world in Hong Kong, and ultimately helping his country rise through science and technology.
The story begins in 1951 on Nanluoguxiang in Beijing. A modern office worker transmigrates into the protagonist of *Love in the Courtyard*, He Yuzhu, also known as Silly Zhu. He is only sixteen. His father, He Daqing, has run off with the family savings, leaving him and his young sister, He Yushui, struggling in poverty.
Unlike the “honest, foolish Silly Zhu” from the original story, who gets bled dry by his neighbors, He Yuzhu awakens two golden fingers: **a pocket dimension and telekinetic control over objects**. His personality changes dramatically, turning him cold, decisive, and devious. To survive and preserve his dignity, he first uses force and his supernatural abilities to go to Tianjin, force his father to hand over his savings, and cut ties with him. Then, thanks to his cooking skills far ahead of his time, he establishes himself at Fengzeyuan and the steel mill, earning his first fortune and building connections with powerful figures such as the senior leader and Director Yang.
It's upside down but it's good enough
