Lin Jingshu, a modern forensic pathologist, transmigrates into the body of a murdered concubine-born daughter of a marquis’s household. Using her forensic expertise to examine corpses and solve cases, she fights to survive against impossible odds. From a poisoning case in which she must prove her innocence to the corpse of a woman found in a deep well, which leads to the mystery of her birth mother’s disappearance twenty years earlier, she uses her scalpel to expose the deadly schemes lurking within the household. Along the way, she goes from matching wits with Lu Zheng, the heir apparent, to joining forces with him. When court conspiracies and the truth behind her transmigration converge around a “Tianshu” jade pendant, she realizes that her rebirth may not have been an accident.
