The Fire Thief: From Taboo to Blasphemy

[Lord of the Mysteries] [Cthulhu] [Advancement] [Slow burn]

In the Age of Great Corruption, listening brings mutation, and understanding brings madness.

Mortals are fireflies; gods are abysses.

Qin Yan, a tomb raider from the old era, touches a yellowed ancient book in an unmarked tomb.

When he wakes again, it is a century later, and the world has ended.

Survivors huddle behind the iron walls of shelters, while monsters twisted by listening to the gods’ voices roam the wilderness. Deep in Qin Yan’s soul, the book slowly opens its hollow eye sockets.

To ascend, humanity must trade reason for status, climbing a bloodstained ladder in blasphemous rituals.

But Qin Yan’s soul has borne the status of the Old Ones since birth.

They call him the fire thief. They call him the blasphemer.
