The Lucky Star’s Comeback: A Metaphysical Bodyguard for a Jinx

Lin Xiuping has spent twenty-five years perfecting her bad luck:

Toothpaste splashes onto her shirt, coffee spills on her new dress, her raincoat rips in public, a pigeon hits her bangs dead-on, and even the water truck seems to have it in for her.

Just as her luck gets so bad she starts questioning her life, she meets Chen Fan, a naturally handsome young man who walks into walls, mistakes clouds for something else, and can’t even find his way home after coming down from the mountain.

Other people have bad luck. He’s a genuine walking good-luck charm. A casual swing of his backpack strap is enough to take down a thief, and one look tells him when a house has bad feng shui.

One is a walking jinx, the other a beacon of good fortune.

When a hapless office worker who takes one step forward and three steps back picks up a young good-luck charm who’s just come down from the mountain, with extraordinary skills and a natural airhead streak,

she makes a snap decision: “I’ll feed and house you. You keep my luck turning around, and I’ll help you adjust to the world.”

From then on, Lin Xiuping’s life turns around against all odds.
