A Lowly Believer

To help her roommate teach her cheating boyfriend a lesson, Song Wantang splashed wine all over Huo Yansui.

She turned to leave, but someone stopped her. “You think you can just walk away? Do you even know who you’ve offended?”

The man in the shadows raised his eyes slightly, his voice low. “Forget it.”

Song Wantang thought he was a good person and quietly thanked him.

The next time they met, some punks cornered her. Unable to get away, she ran straight into his arms. “Sir, could you please call the police for me?”

“Do I look like a good person to you?”

He really wasn’t. From the first moment he saw her, he’d wanted to lure her into bed, keep her locked away, and make her his alone.
