Gu Ruo × Xu Shishang
The eldest princess, Gu Ruo, is cool and composed. As she audits the palace accounts, she sees through the undercurrents at court.
Xu Shishang, from a powerful ministerial family, is ruthless and decisive. With thunderous force, he brings the corrupt Su Clan to account.
Though they each have their own designs at court, they meet again and again amid the turmoil.
He protects her, and she understands his difficulties.
From testing each other to quietly supporting one another,
from the formalities of ruler and subject to feelings that bloom in secret.
Political intrigue is the game, and the palace is the board.
The two stand side by side amid raging waves,
and in a turbulent age of power struggles, a restrained yet passionate love takes root.
