Synopsis
Modern special operations strategist Lin Yan dies unexpectedly during a mission, only to wake up as a border soldier of the Great Yong’s northern frontier, one who has already fallen in battle.
Surrounded by mountains of corpses, he hears the Di raiders shouting as they hunt him down, while half a broken arrow still juts from his chest. Just as a blade is about to strike, a strange field of light appears in his mind.
[Battlefield Simulation System activated]
Within a hundred meters, the battlefield unfolds before his eyes: enemy and allied positions, escape routes, and blind spots for ambushes. From that moment on, the cannon fodder soldier abandoned among the dead begins his fight to survive against all odds.
With fifteen wounded men, he turns the tables on seven Di scouts and captures their horses and supplies. Using modern training methods, he forges the elite Black Armor Squad and wins a stunning victory against the odds, striking fear into the frontier. He exposes the parasites stealing military rations and roots out a traitor working with the enemy, rising from squad leader to platoon commander as he establishes himself step by step among the dead.
But survival is not all he wants.
When clues to a traitor in the frontier army point toward the capital, when Northern Di leader Chile gathers an army and marches south for revenge, and when imperial authority collapses and the age of warlords begins, the border soldier who crawled out of a pile of corpses will use his battlefield simulations to make the decisive move in the great game for the realm.
From a doomed soldier on the frontier to the founding emperor.
A man of humble origins, with no powerful family or harem to rely on, he will carve out a unique path to supremacy with nothing but battlefield simulations.
[No conjuring items out of thin air with the System. No brainless harem. No copying historical events.]
[Political intrigue and power struggles + building a mighty army + duty to country and family. A slow start, but immensely satisfying, with long-term plotting and an epic spanning a million characters.]
