Xiejie Zhi

"Xiejie Chronicle" takes Chuwang Town, a thousand-year-old commercial port in northern Henan, as the narrative axis, and uses the rise and fall of Xiejie on the bank of the Wei River as the geographical context. It gives a panoramic account of how the agrarian revolution, the Anti-Japanese War, the Liberation War and the land reform swept through a prosperous town from 1934 to 1952, causing it to collapse in flames and then be reborn on the ruins. The work connects the ideological sparks of Chuwang Middle School, the secret battle between the Japanese and puppet artillery towers, the thunder blow of the Battle of Chegu, and the people's song of land distribution during the land reform. It closely links personal destiny with the peril of the nation and the vicissitudes of the town. It not only depicts the tragic suffering and sacrifice in troubled times, but also celebrates the light of ideals, the power of the people, and the unquenchable spark of revolution, and creates an epic of civilian heroes engraved on the Weihe Plain.
