[Childhood Sweethearts × A Meeting in Youth]“Zhaozhao, believe me. There's really nothing going on between me and her.”
Ning Zhaozhao slapped his hand away. “Don't touch me. You're disgusting. Have you no shame?”
From a distance, Xie Zhiyi quietly watched the scene unfolding in the alley. Ning Zhaozhao glanced over at him and warned, “What are you looking at? Keep staring and I'll gouge your eyes out.”
Xie Zhiyi was just about to speak when a shout rang out.
“Ning Zhaozhao! You're getting bolder by the day!” It was Dean Li, the old disciplinarian. Ning Zhaozhao turned and tried to run.
“Stop right there! Come to my office!”
Ning Zhaozhao resigned herself to following him. When she passed Xie Zhiyi and saw him walking alongside her, she couldn't help asking, “Hey, did you go to the wrong school?”
…
“Xie Zhiyi is a new student. Starting today, he'll be studying with you in our class.”
Ning Zhaozhao watched him as she chewed on a biscuit.
Xie Zhiyi called to her. “Ning Zhaozhao, give me your test papers.”
With a sharp smack, Ning Zhaozhao flung every test paper on her desk onto his.
“If you like doing them so much, then do a few more,” Ning Zhaozhao said through gritted teeth.
…
Xie Zhiyi, wake up.
