I'm just a parcel sorter. I've had tinnitus for three years, so I have to wear earplugs.

One night shift, a package with no return address came down the conveyor belt.

An old-fashioned radio, with a redwood case, brass knobs, and a snapped antenna.

As I tuned it, I heard a woman say:

"Chen Hao, you have nine years left."

In the ninth year, she asked me, "You owe me nine years. How are you going to pay me back?"

I said, "By making your soul vanish forever."
