In the late 1960s, Lin Jianjun and Zhao Xiulian, young people from the county town, gave up the college entrance examination and went south to work in Shenzhen, but they fell into trouble because of Lin Jianjun's leg injury. Zhao Xiulian became the nanny of Shen Muchen, the son of a wealthy businessman. In order to take care of her daughter Xiaoyang and her family who lost her mother, she took Shen Muchen back to his hometown in Hebei after he went on a hunger strike.
When four-year-old Xiaoyang met five-year-old Shen Muchen for the first time, she patted his white suit with dirty hands and broke into his world like a little sun.
