“I’m good at playing every role perfectly, except myself.”
Lin Shu, 30, is a severe social phobic who has turned life into a precise ritual. His world is made up of timed heartbeats, rehearsed contingency plans, and flawless smiles, all meant to seal away the void left by a fire when he was seven, along with a rusty tin box.
Until “Prism” finds him.
This secretive organization, made up of symbiotic contradictions, takes in the “abnormal” beings of reality: the Poet of Order, the World Mender, the Paradox Harmonizer, the Boundless Experimental Subject, the Weaver of Moods, the Architect of Order... and him, a “perfect” impostor.
Here, reality is a thin film that emotions and thoughts can stain. Madness is the norm, and stability an illusion. The price of using one’s abilities is the gradual fading of one’s “sense of existence.”
Lin Shu must learn to face the child in the burning ruins of his memories in a world where he can no longer hide behind a mask, and master his ambiguous ability, [Perform Reality]. He must navigate between “Prism,” which seeks to guide him, the “Council,” which intends to control him, and the “Resonance Society,” which pursues absolute freedom.
When every performance falls away, can he accept that his true self is a dazzling yet imperfect prism, made up of all his contradictory fragments?
