The Divine One Always Wants to Cuddle Up to Me

Su Nuan was born able to absorb other people's negative emotions. As a result, she was frail and sickly, living like an emotional dumping ground. Then, when she was driven to the brink, her blood awakened an ancient god of war who had sealed himself within her family's heirloom jade. Though he was only a tiny, three-headed-and-bodied chibi figure with a sharp tongue and an appetite for snacks.

“Mortal, you woke me up. From now on, you belong to me alone.”

Thus, the down-and-out deity became her constant companion. When she went to work, he sat on her shoulder and held forth about the world. When someone hit on her, he instantly reverted to his adult form and pulled her into his arms. “My worshipper? You think you're worthy of coveting her?”

When his old enemies returned and Su Nuan was forced to absorb the malice of an entire city, bringing her to the verge of collapse, the man who always needed her to “cuddle up and recharge” tore open the void and rekindled his divine fire for her, his eyes crimson.

“Who gave you permission to lay a hand on my woman?”
